The Memories of the Mimbres necklace pays respectful homage to the animal imagery found on the pottery of the Mimbres River Culture.

These native people painted sacred vessels with beautiful abstracted images of animals.

These beautiful executed pots were buried as gifts to the gods to insure harvests and bountiful water. The Mimbres culture flourished from 1100AD-1300AD and then mysteriously dwindled.

However, the exquisite pottery they left behind and later found in modern anthropological digs has inspired a new generation of artists including Claire.
